| Bob Thompson | Reply: posted - 3 March 2010 18:16 Family obligations caused me to get headed out late. Driving out to Turf the sky was full of marshmellows. By launch time they were starting to fritter. Pinned off at 1.2 into 5 kts, base was 6k above Turf. Later, base was 6.6k. Never got more than 20, miles out in any direction due to poor lift the farther out I got. Listened in on LUKE rapcon for over an hour, fairly busy, but didn't seem to be too bad to me. After 2 1/2 hours I came down, so I could get home with some light to put the trailer on the side of the house. So so flying, but still a lot better than the no flying for the last month. 19 |
| Bob Thompson | Start of thread: posted - 2 March 2010 17:44 Shortly after the high cloud deck moved past this afternoon, a number of nice looking high cu popped up to the north. The 6pm tv weather folks indicated a clear day tomorrow, with a light front passing thru on Thursday. And, today's soaring forecasts looked reasonable and Blipmap for tomorrow seems like a possible. I'll see what tomorrow brings and maybe head out to keep Roy in business. Any others interested? If so, lets talk tomorrow. 19 |
